100_0809.jpg Kingston is a close-knit community of active residents who create community gardens, raise money for those in need, and work toward preservation of open space, among many other endeavors. Our churches and synagogues have active, involved members too. There are business groups, politics groups and civic groups all working to improve the life of our residents and create a viable, solid community. Below are a list of many of these organizations, and we would encourage you to check them out.

KingstonHappenings.org – A chili cook-off, jazz festival, and city-wide yard sale. Top musical performers every Sunday night at Keegan Ales. The list goes on…there’s so much happening in the city of Kingston, it’s sometimes hard to keep track -  Kingston Happenings is a comprehensive listing of city events, from music performances to gallery openings to walking tours to kids’ drumming lessons and more.

KingstonCitizens.org is a community group that engages residents in public issues and policy discussions.

Friends of Historic Kingston is charged with the preservation of the city’s vast inventory of historic buildings and homes.

The Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center is located in Kingston and hosts many programs throughout the year.

Kingston Together is a student project that envisions a new vision of midtown. Check out the video!

Sustainable Hudson Valley works toward creating sustainable living throughout the region.

The Kingston Land Trust protects open space in and around Kingston while promoting community gardens.

The Center for Creative Education offers programs for kids, engaging them in music, art and more.

The Arts Society of Kingston is a non-profit that promotes art in Kingston.

The Hudson Valley Center for Innovation is a technology incubator.

The Hudson River Maritime Museum spotlights the region’s nautical heritage.

KUBA is the Kingston Uptown Business Association.

KMBA is the Kingston Midtown Business Association.

The Rondout Business Association has members who are located on the Kingston Waterfront area.
