Connect.
I wandered off the grid to meet up with the others who were brave enough to suffer the ungodly heat for the KDC ‘Happier Hour’ at Keegan Ales last Wednesday. (For future knowledge — Keegan Ales has air conditioning…)
What I enjoy the most about these events is the variety of talented local yokels that it brings [...]

Most of us in Kingston NY have weathered the storm pretty well. Power outages, if at all, have been short-lived. Not the case in surrounding hamlets. Some have power, no internet. Some no power, nada! Smart cell phones (while they hold power) become the life line. So it was great to see BEAHIVE with locations in [...]

On a budget? Then check out what [...]

I had the pleasure of speaking with Barbara Mayfield today. She is a loan originator at Ulster Savings Bank, here in Kingston. Barbara flipped open her note pad and started counting local mortgage inquiries that have come in since June 30th. These are not re-finances, these are new purchases.
“Nineteen loan pre-approvals in one week’s time,” she [...]

The New York Times featured photos of Kingston real estate on the front page of its real estate section today. See the photos here.
“Real estate agents throughout the Hudson Valley and in other second-home markets… say that sales have picked up recently, as New York City renters came shopping for homes. Many of these renters are [...]
