Here’s a true story about the guy driving street cleaning truck #62 in Kingston this morning. I was on the porch when I heard the truck coming up my street. I walked inside to get my keys, thinking I might be able to move my car off the curb fast enough to get the benefit of this big cleaning machine. When I came back out, he was slowly moving around my car.
In street cleaning trucks, the driver sits on the right side of the cab, so he had a clear view of me. The driver looked at me and paused the truck. I didn’t make any gesture of any kind. I figured I had missed the window of opportunity. He saw I had my keys. He nodded toward my car. I nodded yes. He backed up the truck. I moved the car and he cleaned my section of the street. All without a word passing between us.
Whomever he was in street cleaning truck #62. he made me feel like cares about the people who live here.
The employee is Charlie Ostrander. He is a seasoned veteran who truly cares about this city. I will see that he is made aware of this and a copy of this message will be placed in his personnel file. Thank you
Well that’s a feel-good if I ever heard one. Bravo, Charlie!
