Dave,

I just saw your post about the pet store. My opinion is...I have no idea! I suggest you consult with the Small Business Development Center, create a business plan and have them help you with market research. There is a small pet store in uptown Kingston that seems to do OK. Also, I don't know if the new promenade on the Rondout is "pet friendly" but I would think you would work with the city to make it so (receptacles for "waste" and some pet water stations). But people love their pets and there seems to be no end to the lengths they'll do to dote on them so, could be a good idea. The Rondout has a lack of gift shops right now.

Looks like this discussion has been inactive for some time but I have a question for Kingston residence and business owners. Do you think a small upscale dog/pet boutique (toys, pet accessories/unique collars and leashes, fresh hand-backed treats, beds, carriers, etc.) would do well in the Roundout area? Thanks for your replies.

Great idea!! We'll have an Open Studio in the coming month or so, to show the upstairs work stations that are available, up on the third floor office level.

You should know about the new happenings on the second floor, too. It is being transformed from Ashokan Architecture offices to an Interior Design Salon, Showroom and Fine Art gallery. The gallery is up and running as of August 7th's First Saturday Kingston Gallery Night, (Thank You to Mark and Nancy for helping make the evening a great success!!). We plan to have EVOLVE Design Salon and Showroom open in the first week of January.

In the meantime, come to any First Saturday Kingston Gallery Night--AND--we'll figure out a date to have an "Open Workstation" visit, very, very soon!! ;-)
